LAST YEAR OF OPENING
Cottage style meets seaside chic in this unusual narrow garden full of the unexpected.
Our long, narrow garden features a small victorian style terracotta courtyard surrounded by sloped beds filled with cottage style planting and an old apple tree (gifted from friends when they inherited an old allotment plot). Under the old brick wall in the shade there are lots of pots with hostas. Heading up the brick steps a diagonal pathway leads to a small circular lawn, beyond which the garden changes to a seaside theme complete with bridge, wildlife pond (and resident newts). This end of the garden features wooden decking, grasses and a mini herb garden, all of which surrounds a new art studio/sewing room. There is a hand painted wall mural near the house.
Just ten years ago the garden was essentially concrete paving slabs from front to back so it’s been a fun transformation to its current low maintenance design.
Access is via a long alley to the rear with uneven surface, so not suitable for wheelchairs. No dogs please (we have cats).
Art exhibition and fine art paintings, prints & cards for sale.
