Garden 11

58 The Avenue

Busy cottage style gardens, front and back. The N.E.facing back lies mainly over the rubble of the Elizabethan manor house demolished in 1959 so is extremely well drained. Neighbours trees make it almost like a walled garden but also dessicate the soil. My aim for year round interest has taken 40 years to achieve with mature shrubs, perennials, grasses and ferns etc.I enjoy propagating from seeds and cuttings.

The front is mainly deep loam formed by the ancient orchards lining the original avenue, but also features a rockery built with stones recovered from my excavations! Wheelchair friendly and assistance dog friendly. Plant sale.
