We’ve had over a decade of opening our village gardens up to the public … welcoming people from all over the country to join in our weekend celebration. Thanks to your support, the event has raised over £50,000 for local charities and community groups. You can find out more about these awards on our Helping the Community page.
Everyone is welcome at Open Gardens and it really is an event for all ages. We even have a miniature railway tucked away in one of our gardens. Many of our gardens are wheelchair accessible and many welcome visitors with dogs on a lead (check our booklet and garden listings for details).
We have some wonderful local artists and artisans showcasing their artistry over the weekend – from paintings and cards, to ceramics and willow weaving. You can browse their wares over the weekend and also see some of them at work. Find their details in our downloadable booklet.
Please contact us if you cannot find an answer to your question.
Tickets and printed guides are available in the Chinnor Parish Council office (cash only please). You can also buy your ticket on the weekend at any of the gardens taking part. Just look for the blue, green and pink balloons around the village which mark the gardens taking part, or take a look at our downloadable leaflet which lists all the gardens that are open this year.
Tickets are just £5 per person for the whole weekend.
All the profits from the weekend go to local charities and community groups. Grants are awarded on a yearly basis in response to submitted project bids. They have been used to buy football kits, help the start up of a village Community Garden and even for camping equipment for the Scouts. See some of the groups we have helped on our Helping the Community page.
Nestled underneath the Chiltern Hills, and with the Ridgeway running next to us, we’re a few miles from Junction 6 of the M40 (just inside the Oxfordshire / Buckinghamshire border.)
Come and explore the village for Open Gardens weekend, from our lovely pubs and cafés, to the historic steam railway. We also have the beautiful Kiln Lakes and a restored windmill to discover.
