Garden 17

78 Lower Icknield Way

Welcome to  Gongongoozler’s “Wild” Gardens. Follow the “Long” drive towards the “Mansion”. On your left, is the “Forest”. Enter & follow the path to the composting “Factory”. This is where all waste garden material & domestic vegetable waste is transformed into compost.

Returning to the “Long” drive, the “Lake” is to the left. Pause & listen to the “Rapids”. Fancy white water rafting? Head towards the gate for the back garden. You will see the “Mountain” and  scree in front of you. Beyond that a “Vast Meadow”, please keep to the paths. Meander through the grass along the Meadow path. Take time to see the insects on the flowers.

Enter the rear garden passing through an aromatic arch. You will come to the asparagus bed, see if you can catch some asparagus beatles. Sit in front of the “Summer House” and admire the “Magic  Carpet”. Return to the Meadow and chassis slowly along the left hand path alongside a herbaceous border. Enter the Garden Room, left hand door. If lucky, the Hoya Carnosa will be in flower, although aroma is only produced at night. Sample the nectar.

A unique water harvesting system covers most of our garden’s needs. Apart from one, all tanks are interconnected. Many plants arrived by nature. Generally speaking, such plants are welcome, hence the name “Wild Garden”. There are plenty of seats to rest your weary feet.

Key features:

  • Wild garden
  • Meadow garden
  • Herbaceous border
  • Unique water collection system
